On silent are a new series of works created in 2023 using the facilities at flax.
They are the same size as an average mobile phone, a commentary on how most of us view nature more so through screens than in real life.
Made from wood, dried botanicals, glass and a section of recycled tv screen, which in turn transforms the plant into a hologram of itself.
As the viewer moves side to side, up and down the image of the plant disappears, distorts and reappears.
Echoing our disconnection, and loss of the natural world.
